Catastrophic brain and spinal cord injury cases are rare and can be difficult to manage. Many complications that arise in the acute care setting can be evaluated to prepare for long-term cost projections and medical needs.

Neuropsychological evaluations can provide helpful and unique information about an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavior functioning which can be used in a variety of ways, including guidance for community reintegration and return to work/school.

After taking this 1-hour webinar, participants should be able to: 

• Summarize the major areas of cognition that are assessed following an acquired brain injury
• Describe the value of neuropsychological assessments in tracking cognitive changes following an acquired brain injury
• Describe the implementation of neuropsychological assessment results into treatment planning

About the Speaker

Dr. Bibi Stang is a Clinical Neuropsychologist. She has experience in providing holistic care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to patients and their families. Her work focuses primarily on the neuropsychological evaluation and treatment of patients with acquired brain injury and the support of family members affected by these life-changing events. 

Dr. Stang obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Medical Healthcare System and her post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neurorehabilitation at Barrow Neurological Institute.
