
Traumatic injury cases can be difficult to manage and there are multitudes of complications that can arise in acute care settings. Understanding the anatomy involved with a spinal cord injury, and what complications may arise and is an important step in managing their treatment course.
This webinar will briefly review the fundamentals of transfer techniques and discuss the role of caregivers and the interdisciplinary team in achieving the best possible outcomes. Then, using video, we will highlight various types of advanced transfer scenarios as well as provide clinical insights on how to instruct and assist patients learning. There will also be videos of what is possible.
This webinar is approximately 60 minutes long, including 3 poll questions, and will conclude with a question and answer session.

About the Speakers
Tyler Burbee, PT, DPT, NCS: Tyler graduated from Evangel University in 2007 and earned his doctoral degree in Physical Therapy in 2017 from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has been part of the Craig Hospital team since 2014 where he began as a volunteer. Over the years he has collected experience in community wellness, outpatient, and inpatient rehab, with the majority of his time treating people with spinal cord injuries. In 2021 he earned his NCS, marking a board-certified specialist of neurologic PT. He is a member of several interdisciplinary committees, a member and presenter at the ’22 ASCIP national conference, and a Clinical Instructor.
Stephanie Jackson, PT, DPT: Stephanie is a physical therapist at Craig Hospital with 5 years of experience in neurorehabilitation helping those with spinal cord injury and brain injury increase their independence and improve their quality of life. Specializing in functional mobility training, seating and positioning, and patient-centered goal setting, Stephanie empowers patients to strive toward their greatest potential with her empathetic and knowledgeable approach.
